Air Canada

Airlines That Allow Pets In-Cabin

  • Types of pets allowed: Only Cats and Dops that are small enough to between the seat in front are allowed. ( they must be able to turn around and stand up)
  • Maximum weight:  A total of 22 pounds including his / her carrier
  • Cost: Anywhere between $50 – $59  plus taxes each way, depending on destination
  • International?: Yes

Aircrafts that allow pets in-cabin

  • Types of pet allowed: Cats and Dogs small in size
  • Maximum weight: A total of 17 pounds including his / her carrier. (all guide dogs are authorised regardless of their weight) From November 2017 crates are no longer allowed in the cabin.
  • Cost: Toal cost of $153.00 for flights departing from the U.S.A
  • International?: Yes, please be aware that this airline does not allow pets in the Business class cabins especially on intercontinental flights. Alternatively, The pet will have to travel in the hold.

American Airlines

Airlines that allow pets in-cabin

  • Types of pets allowed: Cats and dogs that over 8 weeks old that have the ability to sit in front of the owner for the whole flight.
  • Maximum weight: A total of 20 pounds including his/ her carrier.
  • Cost: $125 each way including tax.
  • International?: Yes, but pet as not allowed in-cabin on transatlantic flights or any flights longer than 12 hours.

JetBlue

  • Types of pets allowed: Cats and Dogs Small in size.
  • Maximum weight: Total of 20 pounds with his / her carrier. In addition, the carrier should not exceed these dimensions: 17 inches long x 12.5 inches wide x 8 inches high.
  • Cost: $100 each way including tax.
  • International?: Yes

Southwest

Southwest Airlines

  • Types of Pets allowed: Cats and Dogs small in size
  • Maximum weight: There’s no limit, however, they must fit comfortably in his/ her carrier under the front of the seat.
  • Cost: $95 each way including taxes
  • International?: No (with the exception of trained assistance and emotional support Dogs. furthermore no animals are allowed to/from Jamaica)

United

United Airlines

After the huge controversy of the death of a dog on a united airlines flight and the airlines mishandling over animals. The airline announced with would not accept any new reservations for PetSafe travel ( pets travelling within the cargo) from March 20, 2018, until May 1, 2018, with immediate effect. On the other hand, this did not affect pets travelling in the cabin.

  • Types of pets allowed: Domesticated cats, dogs, rabbits and birds (except cockatoos) that are older than 8 weeks
  • Maximum weight: There’s no limit, however, they must fit comfortably in his/ her carrier under the front of the seat.
  • Cost: $125 each way including taxes however an additional $125 service charge will apply for each stopover that’s is more than four hours within the U.S.A or more than 24 hours outside the U.S.A
  • International?: Rules for international in-cabin pets travel varies. It’s best to contact the United customer-contact centre for more information for specific flights. Pets are not permitted on flights to, from or through Australia, Hawaii or Micronesia at present.

Alaska Air

Alaska airlines

  • Types of pets allowed: Cats and dogs that are at least 8weeks old and wormed, home birds and domesticated rabbits.
  • Maximum weight: Total of 20 pounds including his/ her carrier
  • Cost: $100 each way including taxes.
  • International?: Yes if your travelling to Mexico you need to make sure you have proper documentation.
